Choose the layout before the size

A single large portrait centred on the blanket is the most striking and the most forgiving of folding, because the face stays visible on a sofa. A repeated pattern of smaller portraits suits playful, non-memorial pieces better.

For a memorial blanket, keep the face away from the edges: hems, folds and draping cut into anything placed near the border.

How fabric changes a photo

Woven and fleece fabrics absorb a little contrast and soften very fine detail, which is why blankets are a good option for older or slightly soft photos — the texture hides what a canvas would expose.

Deep blacks read slightly lighter on fabric than on canvas. If your pet is black-coated, our artists lift the edge detail so the silhouette does not flatten into a single dark shape.

Wording that works on a blanket

Keep inscriptions short and place them below the portrait: a name, or a name with years. Long text is harder to read on fabric because the weave breaks up small letterforms.

Pick a size of text you could read from the other end of a sofa — that is the distance the blanket is normally seen from.

Photo requirements

• —One well-lit photo with the face clearly visible, taken at your pet's eye level.
• —The original file rather than a screenshot or social download.
• —Backgrounds do not matter — they are removed and replaced.
• —Older or grainy memorial photos are usually fine on fabric.

Washing and care

• —Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, with similar colours.
• —Use mild detergent; no bleach and no fabric softener, which dulls printed fibres.
• —Tumble dry low or air dry flat; high heat is what causes fading and edge curling.
• —Do not iron directly on the print — press on the reverse if needed.

Blanket, pillow or canvas?

Choose a blanket when the pet slept with the person, a pillow when you want something smaller and less visible, and a canvas when the piece is meant to be seen by the whole household. Many memorial orders pair a blanket with a small keepsake such as a mug or keychain.

Timing and approval

You receive a digital proof in 24–48 hours; blankets are produced in 5–7 business days after approval, plus delivery. The on-screen preview shows photo placement only — the final artwork comes by email and nothing is printed until you approve it, so you can check the name spelling and crop first.
